Stock signals have one hot wire dark green, dark brown going to them along with a separate ground wire for each. But, one problem that is typical of these old bikes is the fuse box. Using leo's description of the signal circuit, this is what I plan on doing to test. Most of the manuals will cover your exact make, model, and year otherwise one will be provided that comes as close as possible to your bike and will have most of the same info that an exact manual would have.

I was rushing, and I shouldn't have done it. We actually hope you can easily accept it as one of the reference and many thanks for your effort for browsing our website. Inside the headlight bucket the wire colors are the same. These wires are the hot side, each stock turn signal has a black wire from under the nut on the mount stem that runs up and plugs into the black wire from the harness. So essentially what I am saying is - is it normal to have a frame ground wire coming right off the blinker, also attached to the harness? Looking down the front side there's a groove that you can put a paper clip in to push back a locking tab, and the connector will slide out. So since I don't have a diagram for the signals, I have to guess. I removed these, and put the ground for the new signals into the harness where those plugged in. Take this wire and hook it to the + on your flasher, from the L on the flasher to the turn signal switch, from the turn switch to each side of the bike.
The old glass fuse holders get weak and very frequently do not provide a proper contact. Another connected to a black wire in the harness ground. You did not mention what the exact reason the bike needed a rewire. Ok I got my new led blinkers mounted. At that point you can squeeze the connector with pliers to give it more bite on the male side. This is how it works on mine. That's probably another of my issues huh? Should it only be the two wires? In you stock harness The new flasher will plug into the same place as the stock flasher. As you work on it, post your progress and questions so everyone can see the history of what's been done. Its shared by Alice Ferreira in the best field. Horn is toast, not sure if the horn went bad or the switch, or what. I am still using the original wiring harness.
