Going into it I thought I had figured out exactly how Given that the author of this book is one of the screen writers of movies like Legally Blonde, Ten Things I Hate About You, and The House Bunny, it isn't that much of a surprise that it feels like a movie. By JenS This book started out strong and I liked the jaded, sometimes crass observations of the main character. After the wedding This was an enjoyable, funny, raunchy, and quick read. Girls really do just want to have fun! Helen is judgmental and condescending, and apparently pretty conceited. I did think it was fun reading this book now, while I'm engaged. I'm talking about openly mentioning women's sex lives, and hidden or forbidden desires, while remaining light and funny - and especially outrageous! It doesn't help, however, that Helen has chosen her as one of her bridesmaids, and Zadie has to attend a day-long bachelorette party with Helen and her boring friends. As a high school student, she maintained in her diary 10 Things I Hate About Anthony, her boyfriend at the time, which ultimately led to the title of her 1999 film, 10 Things I Hate About You.
This book is not for the very prudish. We offer you The Bachelorette Party, By Karen McCullah Lutz the best product, constantly and also always. This was a really fun, lighthearted novel full of colorful characters. But the twists and turns of that bachelorette party changes her life forever, it makes her realize there is indeed room for someone special in her life and that she is too in need of that someone special. While the novel is solidly written, Zadie's often superior attitude makes her a hard character to like, and the ostentatious vulgarity may not appeal to some. Don't bother with this one.
It was clearly written not only to be a funny chick lit book, but to eventually be made into a movie. Not to mention Zadie and the forbidden hottie. She and Grey won't have the good times anymore now that he'll be an other half. Pages are intact and are not marred by notes or highlighting, but may contain a neat previous owner name. Sadie is a great character to follow and I'm glad I got to be in her head for the duration of the book. The events that happen when Helen reveals that when she drinks, she is less than perfect cause Zadie to like her more and helps all of the girls to have a hilariously fun, slutty, and sometimes dirty time. From a rooftop bar and some seedy nightclubs, to a gay strip club and porn store, Helen manages to shock even Zadie with her behavior.
Lutz is apparently one of the screenwriters of Legally Blonde and you can see that history in the book, I think. This makes Zadie feel inferior and sad about her own pitiful love life. Things get out of hand and mayhem ensues. I really loved this book. I could relate to this book on many levels, and at the same time, rely on it for a quick pick me up! Zadie is still recovering when the book opens with the help of Grey, her best friend. Helen turns into a girl gone wild and manages to get herself into a sticky situation that just might sink the happy couple for good. I would recommend this book to every woman out there. Karen really has a way with words and is great in her descriptions. We go on a wild ride as Zadie discovers how wrong she was about Helen, fulfills her fantasy with the young Trevor and has to reveal to Grey something that she really didn't want to tell him only to discover that what she assumed was all wrong to begin with. Grey is Zadie's best friend and the one who has gotten her through her break up. The plot line is simple. Girls getting close to going out of control, with free flowing booze and amusement resumes.
Everybody will certainly still touch and us their gizmo when awakening and also in morning tasks.
